But Baby It's Cold Outside

Good Evening Dog Fans

The pack is mad at me,
I just can not bring myself to go out in the cold and dark to take them on walk...
Sorry dudes, but seriously it's just too cold out!

I've promised that we'll walk in the morning
when the sun is out and I can at least pretend to be warm.
I might even drive us to the dog park,
               we usually walk,
it's only about 5 city block away.

The walk over is a pull & tug match between myself, Yolanda/Ouiser and Emma Stone.

We're workng on it
It's a work in progress, young dogs!
Mollie and Jake follow behind me and the only issue is smelling stuff
then the walk comes to a screeching halt
cuz someone needs to smell something important!

So in lieu of exciting news or an interesting story just thought I might share some photos

Yolanda/Ouiser in her pink and purple scotch plaid
"Am I not just the cutest thing you ever did see?"

Mollie attempting to get into Yolanda/Ouiser bed
"Seriously girl friend there aint no way"

Tiny Emma Stone in her new Christmas Bed

Jake Ryan attempting to sleep in Tiny Emma Stone's new Christmas Bed
The big old Dude could not be convinced he didn't fit

Poor Tiny Emma Stone
"Jake stole my new Christmas Bed"

"Half of Riverwest would give their eye teeth to take a whack at Ouiser"

Yolanda/Ouiser as
Oliver
"Please sir I want some more"

It's a hard knock life being a dog!

"Styling in my fancy leopard print sweater, it matches my duck"

"I refuse to look at one more dog photo"

So there ya have it!
No, I'm not bored, I just live alone with four crazy dogs and one aggravated cat...

Hope you enjoyed our little slide show come on over and meet us sometime. We're sure you'll find us entertaining!
And if you find you have room in your life for one little sassy dog she'll be waitin on ya in Riverwest.

The Lady!

A bit of this and a dash of that

Hey there dog fans

Well life is starting to get normal around here...If you haven't yet read the post below on Yolanda's Misadventure.  It will make you cringe, cry and laugh...don't miss it!

I have taken to calling Yolanda Ouiser/Weeza after the Shirley MacLaine character in Steel Magnolias  Ousier Boudreaux...she can be some what of a curmudgeon!  Like most Chihuahua's she think she is all that and more.  Kind of sassy, no, she is really sassy to all strangers, barks and lets all know she is present.  She loves other dogs and she bonded to me in all of 30 seconds, but when she see's our neighbors she barks...  We share a yard with two homes. The back house has two residents and we have an upstairs neighbor as well.  They are all dog people and really nice, but Ousier loves to tell them...this is her yard, they are trespassing and they should leave...NOW.  But she is just noise.  She will quiet down when I really get after her in the yard or on leash; "Quit" "No" "Quit" But is much better about settling down in the house.
She is good with Stella one of our neighbor's dog,  who is the fun police of the yard!  And is in LOVE with the Pit mix Captain that lives upstairs...she loves to run and run and run circles around him...will squeal when he gets her but it is all a big joke to her!

She is very funny loves to play with her toys, the cat and Tiny Emma Stone.

She is just as cute as she can be, goes in her crate well and is potting training fast!  We went to the dog park for the first time yesterday and she was great, barked at a few people but for the most part was interested in playing chase and race games with Tiny Emma Stone and the other small dogs in the park.  She wasn't intimidated by the big guys either...
This could be why
Yolanda/Ousier top left.  Tiny Emma Stone top right
Jake and Mollie
Hangin out while the Lady  works

Yolanda will sit, for 25 seconds, loves to dance on her back feet...I will catch this in a photo I promise!  And she enjoys a walk around on the coffee table.  She loves her duck, her dinner and putting on her coat means she gets to go outside.  When I change into my walking clothes she is jumping on the bed...Hurry hurry hurry it time for a walk!  Or as Yolanda/Ousier likes to call it a pull down the street.  I am working on her leash manors but Dude!

Yup if I can get on it I will get on it

Now Tiny Emma Stone is a sweet as she can be, unless you are at the dog park then she is a Terrier Terrorist.. she chases every dog that runs and she is faster then a speeding bullet. She is getting back to her sweet self after going to Madison's School of Animal Medicine..I must report she was somewhat traumatized, we both were.
But that is over and we know now that Tiny Emma Stone is a perfect beautiful little girl with a tendency to  leak urine when she sleeps at night...no big deal.  She can't be left alone for more then 2 to 3 hours during the day and must wear a diaper at night, like we said No Big Deal!
I just love my new tee-shirt!
She was shaved on each side and around her belly for the ultra sound and is such a sensitive soul it really effected her, but she is past that now and loves the tee-shirt!
She and Yolanda/Ousier are besties, play, sleep and watch for intruders together!  As I type they are playing going to bite your face off!

So there you have it...Life in Riverwest is going along just fine...Yolanda and Tiny are enjoying life in the big city with this crazy pack while they wait for their forever families to find them.

Do I have a story for you!!!!

Well a lot has happened since the last time the the Lady and I spoke with you..A whole lot!

Last Thursday at about 10:15 AM I went outside with my foster sister's Tiny Emma Stone, Mollie Maie and that Dude Jake.  The Lady was watching from the door..she asked me if I wanted to come in...

I said "No thanks goin to hang out here"
Can you say big mistake HUGE!

The Lady went back to her desk for just a few minutes and when she came back I was GONE....Just like the new movie..Gone Girl

"Like this monster came in the yard and scared me and I scooted right out under the gate.."

Next thing I knew I was running down the most scary ally in the whole world and these HUGE MEAN DOGS where barking at me...

" Hey you come over here and I will eat you"

" Yeah you silly little girl I don't think you belong out here"

I didn't know what to do but RUN!!!

" So I ran like a thousand miles...everything was so strange and so scary and so big and so mean and so scary...did I say scary all ready? "

In the mean time...like five minutes later the Lady started to look for me and she was crying and calling me and starting to get people to help her find me.

People in Chicago and New York City and Hartland Wisconsin started posting on Craig's List and Lost Dogs Wisconsin and Riverwest Neighborhood on Facebook and Calling the Police and Calling the Humane Society and the Lady was crying and she had like a million flyers made and she was putting them up everywhere and crying and going door to door and asking everyone to help her find me and crying.

"There were cars like everywhere and I was lost and I couldn't find the Lady or Mollie or Jake or Tiny Emma Stone and I was so scared...So I hid under a car that was parked on the street."

Then at about 3:00 PM this nice Lady was going to get her daughter from school and she saw me and she called on all these angels to help me.

When the angels came it took about five of them to get me out from under the car!  And they were so very nice to me they took me out of the cold and they gave me a bath and some food and they keep telling me it would be OK and I was so scared!

Now the angels started posting on Riverwest Neighborhood Associations Facebook page that they had found a little white and tan Chihuahua that was the nicest dog they had ever met...And the Lady, remember was out putting up flyers and crying and going door to door.  But remember she had people in Chicago and New York City and the Whole Wide World monitoring Craig's List and Lost Dog Wisconsin and Facebook.  It was our upstairs neighbor Ali in Chicago (she goes to school there two days a week) that called the Lady at 6:30 and said
"I think the Good People in Riverwest found her!!!"
And the Lady cried

And everyone from around the world stated to rejoice and the Lady went home and posted pictured of me on the Riverwest Facebook page so the angels could be certain she was my Foster Lady and then I went home to the Lady and Mollie and Jake and Tiny Emma Stone.

Now the moral of this story is NEVER EVER EVER go outside without the Lady...It was all the fault of the Lady...bad Foster Mom..

I will NEVER EVER EVER RUN AWAY AGAIN Because the Lady goes out in the yard with me and she chases all the monster away!

So forever family I am waiting for you to come and take me to my forever home.  I am so very very cute!

Say good-bye and Say hello

Hello Fans
Going to take a quick minute to say a fond farewell to our friend Jasmine / Wynnipeg Jones! On Sunday Linda and Dave came and made our friend a permanent member of their family
I have myself a home
Say good-bye!

I would like you all to say hello to our newest pack-member Ms Yolanda, who we call Yo-Yo
Yo-Yo is great with all the dogs, Tiny Emma Stone, Mollie and Jake...she is also very good with Gema the cat.  We took a quick walk last night after she arrived and she did pretty darn good on leash.  She slept with me last night and we have only had one accident in the house... We will continue to work on that.

She is very playful and plays well with Tiny Emma, and entertains herself with toys too!  She likes to sleep in a chair next to my desk, or behind my chair on the floor.  She is really little...smaller the Gema the cat, but Gema is a big ol fat cat!  She is brave in the yard and so far a really good girl.  Yo-Yo has a cute little under-bite...

Just wanted to get some info out there on our newest little friend and let you know she is so very sweet and very funny too...So if you are looking for a new family member to your home for the holidays Yo-Yo Yolanda would love to be your Holiday Girl!

What very big eyes I have...
And such a cute face
Just a bit of a thing Yo-Yo Yolanda is
Me and My Kong hangin behind the Lady's desk chair
Yup got myself my berry own seat
So there you go, stop back and get to know me better...
I'll be waiting
Yo-Yo Yolanda and the Lady

The Resilience of Dogs

The true and honest resilience of dogs never ceases to amaze me.
Little Jasmine(who I have fondly re-named Wynnipeg Jones just because it fits her so fine) is a wonder.

She calls me Wynnipeg Jones one of those fine girls from Bama!
Wynnie for short cuz I am
Short!

Tomorrow it will be two weeks since she arrived.  She had lived with some kind of pack with some kind of backyard breeder.  She was dumped in a shelter with 3 of her pack-mates.  She stayed for a bit with one of the saviors of the south waiting for a ride north.

She was just starting to settle in there and the next thing she knows she and her friends are in and out of cars for two days heading north.

When she arrives here she is promptly bathed by strangers and the next thing she knows she is separated from her pack and then a new stranger picks her up.

I couldn't even get her to come out of the crate to me. I had to tip it and slowly pull the towel she was on out.  She was so scared she was just shaking.

I put here in a sweater and take her out in the cold into yet another car for another hour ride.  Next thing she knows she is meeting three new dogs...two are just huge and one is very bossy and kind of silly
Jake the Giant

Sweet Mollie Mae

Tiny Emma Stone that other fine girl from Bama!

And she gets to meet one crazy cat..We hang out for a bit, go to bed, and she is very relieved to learn she gets to sleep with me. The next day she starts to learn the new routine and rules.

She's learning to potty outside, starts on basic commands sit, stay, off, and to walk on a leash. Fast forward two weeks.

Jasmine Aka Wynnie comes when she is called, most of the time...
Sits nearly every time she is asked for a treat or for her dinner.

Understands that off is off the bed, off the sofa, off when she is jumping up on my leg...

She is so good on her leash and I walk Tiny Emma Stone, Mollie, Jake and Jasmine Aka Wynnie and on most days I also have Stella our neighbor that comes here for doggie day care.

She has leaned that her place on the walk in up in front of me with Tiny Emma Stone and Stella if she is with us, while Jake and Mollie follow behind.

She understand "wait"  we wait for another pack-mate to smell or pee, we wait at each corner.

She understands "over" because we are such a large pack when we meet people coming down the city sidewalk we move "over" and we "wait" for the people to go by.

We have had only 4 maybe 5 potty accidents in the house and not one in the past four days!

Don't ya just know it
Me and Big Ol Jake tonight after our walk
And to think this dude scared me!
Not no more!

RESILIENCE: She is happy,  she is smart and she will make someone an incredible darlin' companion, she'll give ya love and understandin' that darlin companion!

Thankful for the Opportunity to Foster

Hello Fans

Wow I can't believe that it has been one full week since I got to the Lady's house.
I am really coming along...
I can walk on my leash without too much silliness, I get a bit frightened by cities buses. Those things are really big and noisy, went I get scared I either come to a complete stop or I try to run and that Lady just says...
"It's OK...easy...It's OK"
But as soon as I see that the rest of the pack, Tiny Emma, Mollie and Jake are cool then I settle down again.  I really love the walks we take.

I only have had four accidents in the Lady's house going potty.  It's really cold here but I'm working hard to teach the Lady when I need to go outside and then shake off the cold and do my business outside.

I sleep with the Lady, Gema the cat and Tiny Emma Stone every night and we get up very early and the Lady gets dressed and we go outside and every morning I go potty, good girl that I am.

Yesterday I met the Lady's Mom and Dad, and I liked the Dad guy a lot.  We watched football and I really loved sitting on his lap.  I was a bit more unsure of the Lady's daughter and her friend cuz they are kind of noisy and I don't like loud voices too much.  But I really liked the special dinner we got.  We had a bit of cheesy potatoes mixed in with our dinner and that was very cool,

I have also learned to "sit" and I do the coolest trick .... dancing on my back feet for treats..I love treats.  Jerky and Chicken are my favorites and I will work really hard to get them.

What a very very good dog
Paying very close attention
My most special trick
I am very gentle taking my treats too
Everyone waiting their turn
So there you have it, I am a very good dog, I'm  really really little only seven pound of wonderful dog!

So forever family I just waiting with the Lady for you to come and meet me and take me to my Forever Home.

I'm From the South ....

Hello Yankees

It's me little Jasmine LeeAnn, this Lady is crazy...she expects me to go outside with all this white stuff and go potty...
And she just keeps taking me out there.
First we have to change from my Tee-shirt into my Sweater.  Then she puts on these boots and this big coat and we go out and walk around the yard.
I shake and shiver but she just keeps telling me to shake it off and go potty.
Seriously what is all this white stuff and why can't I go potty in that back bedroom, she never goes in there?
When I finally breakdown and go we get to go back in the house and have a treat and she does say good girl good girl like 50 times.  I think her brain gets as frozen as my little feet.

See I am really pretty and white...
I'm just waiting to get my Tee-Shirt back on
And falling to sleep....
How do you Yankee's stand this weather?

Well I have been here a few days and I would like to report that the Lady has taught be to "set"  and I do it most of the time because I really love jerky treats.  That Lady also told me I am a very messy eater...just cuz I push my food out of the bowl to eat the ground turkey and rice first then I do go back and eat most of the kibble off the floor.  But there is this other dog here named Mollie and she is a doggie vacuum and cleans up after me really good!

This is me and my new Fluffy Friend Tiny
We are getting on really well,
See both Tiny and Me are from Alabama
Where it is WARM!!!!!!

Hi there
I bet you would just love to have a cute and coy
little friend like me....

So Forever Family just log on to the computer and send in an application
I can't wait to met ya!

Jasmine LeeAnn...

There's a new kid in town...

Well hello to one and all
I have been so very bad about posting on the blog.  We have a new visitor to our Booth Street Compound Jasmine LeeAnn, now we have a Jazmin here, my daughter so we call our new little friend JaeLee and she is a peach.
Hello all I'm Jasmine LeeAnn, or JaeLee for short
And short I am
All of about 7lbs
She is like a little toy
Jasmine LeeAnn / JaeLee has lived with a breeder in the south and you can tell she has been with a pack of dogs.  This breeder couldn't sell her and a few of her friends and so she just put them in a shelter...Bad Woman!  JaeLee came right in and was fine with my pack, Tiny Emma Stone, her Fluffy Dog Foster.  Tiny Emma has been with us for months and months, more on her below.  My dogs are Mollie is 90-Lb and Jake is 108-lbs and JaeLee was fine with all right off the bat.  She is also great with the resident Cat Gema.

It was so cold her first night here that even in her new coat she wouldn't go potty outside, too cold, too strange, too much.  She ate well and snuggled in her little bed.  When I was going to go to bed, I put her and her bed in her crate, she cried.

"Ok girlfriend, I'll try anything once, but you potty in my house tonight, tomorrow night you are in the crate"

So I put her bed on my bed and JaeLee, Gema and I went to sleep.  Around 4:00 AM Tiny Emma came to bed, JaeLee growled..."Quit" and all was quite...back to sleep.
We were all up at 6:00 and outside, and she quickly found a spot and did her business..."Good Girl"
Not only am I cute as a bug in a rug
But I am very smart too!
She is highly food motivated.  JaeLee has been here 3 full days and has learned "Sit" What a very good girl.
She was like a wind up toy that someone wound too tight on the end of her leash on Friday night...but was more then willing to stay with the pack, so we did a five city block walk and she made it with only a few wild dog outburst.
Yesterday we all walked to the hardware store, and our hardware store lets me and all my dogs come on in. She was a hit and compared to the pack she walks with she really really looks little!  And guess what we were down to one crazy dog at the end of the leash.
Today we walked a five blocker again and guess what not one crazy dog at the end of the leash!  She is getting it down pat.  She is learning to come to a stop and "wait" at each corner, then when she hears "forward" she takes off with the pack!
Today she even started to play chase and race a bit with Emma and also started tossing toys...I think she is settling in!
Yup I just love to nap on the pillows!

If any one out there is looking for a very little friend, willing and ready to learn and to love take a look at this little one!

As many of you may know there has been little change regarding Tiny Emma Stone's bladder issues.  Her bladder leaks when she sleeps.  She has been with me for months, she is on Proin and this drug is very helpful during the day Tiny Emma goes all day without accidents but I work out of my home and she goes our very frequently.  As soon as she goes out she relieves herself and all goes well.  At night she wears a size 4 diaper and we can go two to five nights without incident, then for no rhyme or reason there is urine in the diaper.  Fluffy Dog is working on raising the funds to have Tiny Emma Stone examined by a special vet so if you can give to this very good cause, please contact Lori at Fluffy Dog Rescue.
I just love this face and this girl...
She is smart and funny
She can be a tad sassy at the dog park, at times will fixate on a dog chase it nipping and barking.  When this happens, I call her until she comes, get her to sit and get down on her level and calm her.  Sometimes this works sometimes we have to go to step two, put her on leash and walk away and around the park for about ten minutes.  Then she can go off leash and back to play.
When she is good she is very very good, when she is bad, she's a terrier!

We will keep you all much better informed .... Jasmine LeeAnn / JaeLee would like you all to know she has the softest fur in all of the world!  She is going to make some family very very very happy!

The Lady.

Miracle On Booth St

"Well it's official no more Diapers!!!!!!! I'm a big kid now!
I'm just so darn proud of myself I might just burst...but not my bladder....a bit of humor...."
Said Tiny with a burst of laughter

Emma has been on Proin our miracle maker for 8 days, no side effects and all is right in our world.  Things around Riverwest couldn't get much better...No more diapers day or night for Emma Stone and we have our very own...get ready....here it comes....
PARK OF THE DOGS!
Yup you heard it right our own dog park within walking distance of our house..Roverwest!! The greatest place in the world.  The dogs and I have been there just about every night in the last week.  With all the rain it has gotten a bit soggy, but it is a hoot watching Emma race every dog after every ball and the girl is so fast...she blows my mind.
So we thought we would just post a few photos along with all this great news....it's like the world is our oyster!

Just take a look at this smiling face

Truckin like the do da man!

Proud as a peacock I am

Me and my baby bunny
Darn we are so cute

Me and by bestie Misha just watching the world go by

Me and my crew
Jake way in the back
Mollie Maie is on the left and Misha on the right
And that's me in the front

And here we are at the Bodega
Mollie, Stella, Tiny Emma Stone, Misha and Jake
We are one very cool looking group
If I must say so myself

I'm done worn out

So there you have it Tiny Emma Stone is waiting to save her Forever Family, she is hoping for a dog brother or sister to play with cuz this girl loves her four legged friends.
So come on what ya waiting for?

Good night
The Lady
